Silver Street (Wualai Road on maps) is just to the south of the Old City, through the Chiang Mai (south) gate. It is the central hub of activity within Haiya sub-district (Tambon Haiya) of Chiang Mai City (Mueang Chiang Mai).
The main thorougfare runs south-west from Chiang Mai Gate towards the airport. This street is traditionally known for silver-smithing and is the focal point for a weekly walking-street market on Saturday evenings.
