Sticky Waterfall (Bua Tong)
The Bua Tong ‘Sticky Waterfalls’ are just over one hour’s drive north of Chiang Mai in a quiet forested area. Crystal-clear water from a natural spring works its way down the hillside over a serious of scenic falls.
The spring water leaves limestone deposits on the underlying rock bed. This makes the waterfalls look like the stalagmite formations you might see in a cave – in a striking coffee color.
More amazingly, this also makes it possible to walk up and down the waterfalls without slipping. You can actually walk fully upright and feel perfectly secure in your footing.
Sticky Waterfall Day Tours
A visit to the Sticky Waterfalls is best combined with other attractions to the north of Chiang Mai city.
