Elephant EcoValley

Elephant EcoValley is our recommended elephant experience in Chiang Mai. A stricty no-riding sanctuary, Elephant EcoValley takes extremely good care of their animals, and visitors can feel the resulting happiness and good-natured behavior of the elephants.

Feeding time at Elephant EcoValley

The elephant camp is set in a shaded valley of Mae Taeng district and well-watered by a stream of clean water from the mountains. The grounds themselves are beautiful, and with the comfortable cafe/restaurant area it has a very relaxed feel.

There are many activity stations set around the property, but the clear highlights are the elephants themselves. Feed the elephants, bathe them in the stream, and just enjoy being in the presence of these beautiful and powerful creatures.

Creating Herbal Treatments for Elephants

Learn about the many traditional remedies and natural treatments for elephants. Make vitamin balls with the locally foraged herbs and assorted grains, fruits, and vegetables that the elephants enjoy.

Making Paper from Elephant Dung

The fibrous elephant dung is heat-processed and transformed into paper on site. View or participate in the process… the finished product is amazing.

Shower & Locker Facilities

You will get dirty! The focus of this camp is getting up close and personal with the elephants. Shower facilities are available at the completion of each program.

Elephant EcoValley provides a set of mahout clothing, and towels for showering.

Small lockers are available. We suggest you bring sunscreen lotion, and also swimwear to wear under the provided clothing if you like.
