On the hill behind Santichon Village is a great viewpoint where you can look east across the valley. The Pai river winds through the valley past soybean, rice, lychee and many other crops.

In Winter, many local tourists camp in this area so they can witness a ‘sea of clouds’ over the valley at sunrise. According to the owner of the land, he named this area Yun Lai as a poetic reference to both the gathering of clouds, and the gathering of Yunnanese people in this area.

You can see Pai town center and the white Buddha of Mae Yen Temple in the distance. In the foreground is Santichon Village and the surrounding farmland. When you are done with the view, you can order fresh tea, or feed the fish.
