With two nights based in the town of Pai, you have enough time to experience everything in and around Pai, and take a day trip to Tham Lod Caves and Huay Pu Keng Long Neck Village.

This is a three day private tour with your own licensed, English-speaking guide and transport. There is time for an additional activity on day 1 as you travel to Pai, we can provide details and prices depending on your interests.
Day 1 – Chiang Mai to Pai

- Check in to Pai hotel (1 night stay)

Day 2 – Mae Hong Son Day Tour
- Drive northwest to a mountain viewpoint on the road to Mae Hong Son city.
- Boat trip to Huay Pu Keng long neck village (boat included)
- Soft trekking (30 minutes around village)
- Lunch (included)
- Tham Lod Cave (entry included with local guide/lamp and bamboo raft)
- Bathe at Sai Ngam Hot Spring (tickets included)
- Return to hotel
- Evening free time – go out for dinner (own cost)
Day 3 – Pai to Chiang Mai
- After breakfast, go for a walk in the town center
- Check out from your hotel
- Santichon Village (entry included)
- Yun Lai Viewpoint (entry included)
- Lunch (included)
- Pai Memorial Bridge (free)
- Drive across mountain towards Chiang Mai
- Mok Fa Waterfall (entry included)
- Return to your Chiang Mai hotel late afternoon.
Itinerary Details
Day 1 – Chiang Mai to Pai

Visit the Bai Orchid & Butterfly Farm. The main attractions are the rows of hanging orchids, and a walk-in butterfly enclosure.
Optionally, we can stop at Tiger Kingdom which is close to Bai Orchid & Butterfly Farm. Additional costs apply if you choose to visit – you can pay for tiger encounters at the ticket office.

At Araksa Tea Garden, take the tea-picking tour. Learn how to pick, grade and process tea leaves from the experts.

Take a break for lunch. A set-menu or buffet meal is included in the tour package. Let your guide know if you would prefer to use the lunch budget towards an a-la-carte restaurant of your choosing.

Visit Pai Canyon for a short walk to see the view.

At Mae Yen Temple, climb the steps to the white Buddha statue for great views across the valley..
Check in to your Pai hotel. In the evening you have free time to go out for dinner (own cost) and explore the evening markets.
Day 2 – Mae Hong Son Day Tour
Drive northwest to a mountain viewpoint on the road to Mae Hong Son city.

Take a boat trip to Huay Pu Keng long neck village.
Explore the village by foot before returning down-river.
Take a break for lunch. A set-menu or buffet meal is included in the tour package. Let your guide know if you would prefer to use the lunch budget towards an a-la-carte restaurant of your choosing.

Explore Tham Lod Cave by lamplight with a local guide. You will enter the cave on a bamboo raft.

Bathe at Sai Ngam Hot Spring.
Return to hotel. Evening free time – go out for dinner and explore the night market.
Day 2 – Pai to Chiang Mai
After breakfast, go for a walk in the town center to see the shops, have coffee, etc.
Check out from your hotel.

Take a walk at Santichon Village (Yunnanese Cultural Center)

Visit Yun Lai Viewpoint for great views across the Pai valley
Take a break for lunch. A set-menu or buffet meal is included in the tour package. Let your guide know if you would prefer to use the lunch budget towards an a-la-carte restaurant of your choosing.

Walk across Pai Memorial Bridge, a reminder of Japan’s interest in Burma & India during WWII.
Drive across mountain towards Chiang Mai, with rest breaks as needed.

Take a short walk through the forest to Mok Fa Waterfall. Swimming is possible if you would like to do so.
Return to your Chiang Mai hotel early evening.
