Mae Klang Waterfall is located just before the ticket office of Doi Inthanon National Park which makes it popular with local residents for family outings. It is picturesque and has good water flow year-round

The waterfall is only a small detour from the main road, and a short walk. It would be more popular with international visitors, except that there is so much to see in the national park in one day, that most instead choose to make more early progress and see the taller Wachirathan Waterfall further into the park.

There are many small restaurants located near the main car park, and the river is lined with sheltered places to eat. The menus are dominated by typical Thai picnic fare (e.g. grilled chicken, fish, and papaya salad).
The food is freshest when the waterfall is crowded on the weekends, so if you happen to be passing late morning on the weekend you just might catch a good early lunch and find a good place to sit!
